Zionism Is Not RacismAct now

For Green councillors

The councillors' pledge

A Green councillor can say two things on the record here, in a minute and with no password: that Zionism is not racism, and that the party got Motion A105 wrong. Sign in with the council email address published on your council's website.

  • It is on the record. Your name, ward and council, with the date, on a page anyone can check.
  • It answers your constituents. Jewish residents of your ward can see where you stand without having to write and ask.
  • It stops the emails. Councillors who have signed are taken out of this campaign's email lists the same day.

Two ways to be counted. Sign the pledge and stay to fight for it inside the party, or tell us you have resigned from the Green Party over this motion. Both are recorded here.

The pledge

  1. Zionism is not racism. It is the belief that the Jewish people, like every other people, have the right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland. Most British Jews hold it, and I will not treat them as racists for doing so.
  2. I do not support Motion A105, "Zionism is Racism". I call on the Green Party to reverse it, and I will vote to reverse it at the first opportunity.
  3. I will treat antisemitism as racism. That includes hostility towards Jews for supporting Israel's existence. I will report it through the same channels as any other racism, and I will represent the Jewish residents of my ward as fully as anyone else. Optional. Councillors who tick all three make the full pledge.
